With all the driving I'm doing (3,600 miles so far, at my easternmost point!) I try to stay in the city center, garage the car and walk. And I do like the sights after dark. There was neon in Nashville; the monuments in D.C., and now the illuminated Boathouse Row on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia. The historic boathouses are an icon of city, and the worldwide rowing community. They date back to the 1800s, and five universities have rowing facilities on the 'row'. I'm a fan of anything involving boats without motors, so this was right up my alley.
